Throughout Japan, there are one hundred yen shops, which are the equivalent of dollar stores in the US. On Twitter, Japanese cosplayers are showing props and gear they have made with cheap items they have at these discount shops.

On Twitter (via Togetter), under the tag #百均のグッズ間違った使い方選手権 (or “The Championship of Incorrectly Used 100 Shop Goods), people have been uploading photos showing they have used cheap items in unintended ways for the sake of cosplay.

This isn’t uncommon, of course. Cosplayers have long repurposed items for outfits, showing tremendous creativity in the process!
