Today, Sony released a new patch for Horizon: Zero Dawn that makes a bunch of improvements including quest fixes, X-axis inversion, and, most pivotally, a fix for “game running into issues when playtime exceeds 200 hours.”
I don’t know what those issues are, exactly — Sony hasn’t responded to my request for comment — but I do know that, because Horizon: Zero Dawn came out 21 days ago, you’d have to play an average of nine and a half hours every day to hit 200 hours. So if you have run into this problem, I am extremely impressed.
The full (kinda spoilery) patch notes are on Reddit, and here’s the spoiler-free version:

Lucky me I only managed to clock in at 199 hours, thankfully they patched this before I hit 200.

Yeah, we picked up H:ZD as soon as we landed back in the country a few days after release… she had the week off, and the platinum trophy before the week was up. Unemployment/holidays, yo. FOR GAMING.
Yikes, I got the plat inside of 35 hours. Entertaining as this game is, I can’t imagine it holding my attention for 200 hours.
