A couple of weeks ago, Marvel’s EIC Axel Alonso dropped a bizarre teaser image with little to no information about it… other than the fact it appeared to feature a ginormous hybrid of the Hulk and Wolverine. Today, the company lifted the lid on what it’s for — an incoming crossover between Weapon X and Totally Awesome Hulk.

Revealed through Comicbook.com, Weapons of Mutant Destruction will see the new team of the ongoing Weapon X series — starting as part of the still-awfully-titled “ResurrXion” line of new X-Men and Inhuman comics — Old Man Logan, Domino, Lady Deathstrike, Sabertooth and Warpath teaming up with Amadeus Cho in Totally Awesome Hulk to hunt down the resurgent Weapon X project. While the project has typically focused on mutant-related shenanigans in the past, Logan’s new team discovers that Weapon X’s latest sinister plans have put the Hulk in their sights.
Presumably, if that teaser image is anything to go by, they’re planning to mashup their previous work on Wolverine into the gamma-enhanced strength of a Hulk, which would be a very nasty thing to unleash on the world.
Written by Greg Pak — who currently writes both Totally Awesome Hulk and the upcoming Weapon X book anyway — the Weapons of Mutant Destruction storyline will begin in Totally Awesome Hulk #19 in July, before getting its own one-shot solo comic and continuing in alternating issues of Totally Awesome Hulk and Weapon X.

A hulk with adimantium coated bones/claws, talk about dinishing returns.
Can he have adamantium bones though? Like, assuming there is a transformation involved, when they put the metal on did they do it at hulk form or human form?
You’d assume the metal is a fixed thing, fusing it to the skeleton essentially locks it in but the Hulks bone structure grows and shrinks during transformation. So if they fused it in hulk form he can never return to human form without the giant skeleton popping out of the flesh. Alternately you get a hulk with a tiny skeleton.
Maybe this one is just stuck in hulk form and can never got back to human.
The silliest part about it is that he is actually less of a threat to everyone with adamantium anywhere in his body.
Oh hey Magneto, just turn those claws into a noose.. that can’t be broken.
Good point….also I think we both need to get out more.
Nahhh mate, I live in the desert. I don’t want to go outside where I live 😛
