An Australian Conference About Video Games And Sex

Remember Blush Box?

Blush Box is an all-female, superstar collective of women in the Australian games industry.

Last year they flew to Norway to make a video game in less than 48 hours.

This year they’re putting together an Australian conference about love, sex and video games.

It’s called ‘Heartbeat’.

Heartbeat takes place December 1-3 this year. It will be a three-day symposium filled with conferences workshops and — of course — a game jam. In attendance: interdisciplinary artists, romance writers, performance artists, a sexual psychologist, and game designers. Everything will have that focus: how can the themes of love, sex, and romance inspire work in the video game field.

Heartbeat will take place at Byron Bay, in a location surrounded by gardens and a pocket of rainforest.

This isn’t your average video game conference. I’m intrigued.

In addition, Blush Box is teaming up with Bar SK in Melbourne to host XXXHIBITION. From the June 9 till June 28 Bar SK will be hosting a selection of sex and romance themed video games.
