Watch Australia Compete For The World Cosplay Crown Live

You may not have heard of it, but one of the world’s biggest international cosplay competitions is happening this week, hosted by C2E2 in Chicago — the Crown Championships of Cosplay. Among regional champions from eight different countries, and a host of local American competitors, Australian cosplayer Henchwench is there gunning to be the one to bring the crown back down under.

Henchwench won the Australian Championships of Cosplay in Brisbane last year, with an amazing Death Knight Tier 19 armour set brought to life with impressive craftsmanship. (She’s also done one of the best Mei cosplays out there.) For the international competition she’s making another Tier 19 armour — this time the Shaman set. From the looks of her work in progress pictures, it’s going to be pretty phenomenal.

Although the competition is bound to be tough (you can check out the other competitors on the C2E2 site), we’ve got some pretty talented cosplayers here — as was proved last year when Australian representative Major Sam took out the inaugural international championships against some stiff competition.

The competition kicks off at 10am AEST this morning, and you can watch the whole thing live right here. Good luck, Henchwench!
