For some people, this is just early May. But for us, it’s time to run down the list of Eisner award nominees — and to remind ourselves that San Diego Comic-Con, where the winners will be announced, is just a few short months away.

This year, as always, there’s something for everyone to root for, ranging from the poetic dread of Tom King’s Vision to Ben Passmore’s thoughtful reflections on racist microaggressions in Your Black Friend.
