Method Acting, Rick And Morty Style

And by method acting, I mean doing what Dan Harmon, Justin Roiland and Rick are best known for: working while wasted.

Rick, as Harmon puts it, is a “very high functioning alcoholic”. And given that one of the episodes in the upcoming season of Rick and Morty sees Rick get real drunk, Harmon reasoned that Roiland – who does the voice for Rick – needed to get substantially drunk.

Cue the tequila.

The video actually seems super frustrating, especially for assistant producer Sydney Ryan who has to corral Roiland into actually working. “This is by far the least productive, and messiest record day we’ve ever had. So thanks a lot Harmon,” she explains at the end of the video.

It’s a little hard to watch Roiland have obviously a fantastic time: he’s smashed to the eyelids on what is probably very nice tequila, while delivering credible VO four shots in. But in a way that’s part of the appeal of Rick and Morty, in that it’s so incredibly unhinged.
