It’s not a thin and light gaming laptop, but it’s not a weak bugger either. If you want a laptop with a GTX 1070M, 16GB of RAM and a decent Intel i7 CPU under the hood, you can get an Acer Predator G9-973 today for just under $1700.
The deal is part of a sitewide 15% off deal, provided you use the coupon code CRAZY and the transaction goes through PayPal and not any other method. The discount actually applies as long as you spend more than $75, although it’s available for a “limited time” and the terms and conditions don’t explicitly say when the promotion will end.
Nonetheless, that means if you move today you can save precisely $299.85 on an Acer Predator G9-973. It’s no slouch of a laptop, at least when it comes to gaming:
CPU: i7-6700 HQ (4 core/8 threads, 2.6Ghz base, 3.5GHz turbo)
RAM: 16GB DDR4-2133MHz
Storage: 1TB SATA, 256GB SSD
Optical Drive: DVD+RW Burner
GPU: GTX 1070M 8GB
Input: 1x HDMI, 1x DisplayPort, 1x USB-C, 1x USB 3.0, 1x RJ-45, 1x 3.5mm headphone, 1x SD Card Reader
Other: Bluetooth 4.1, gigabit LAN ethernet, Killer Wireless-AC 1535,
Weight: 4.2kg
Dimensions: 432 x 39.7 x 321.5mm
So yeah, it’s a laptop but you probably don’t want 4.2kg of weight on your knees. It’s a decent trade-off given the price, however, and if you’re the kind who buys a beefy laptop for the office and at home this could power both quite easily. If that price sounds about right for you, head on over to the JW Computers eBay store.

Acer seems to be lifting its game, yeah? They’ve always been pretty cheap, but the brand has rated horribly in a number of areas compared to other laptop brands, until recently. I read that their tech support, in particular is getting much better.
Of course three days after I decide to bite the bullet and grab a laptop for work this pops up. Mind you I did get a gigabyte with the same cpu and a 1060 but it was pretty much the same price. Would’ve loved to have gotten one with a 1070 in it. Boo!
4.2kg. HOLY GOD.
