JoyCon, the detachable controllers that latch onto the Switch tablet, are small pieces of hardware. They’re probably easy to lose, if you’re not careful. Good thing, then, that there’s a feature for that now.
Yesterday, a Switch system update dropped, and it introduced a number of small quality of life improvements. The most notable tweak has to be this one, though:
Find paired controllers within communication range by activating the vibration feature
To access it, simply go to “Controllers” on the main Switch menu, and then select “Find Controllers”. From there, you’ll be prompted to specify what controller you want to find. Press the appropriate button, and your JoyCon should start buzzing wildly, depending on how long you keep it pressed. It almost sounds like a horn if you keep going:
The wonders of HD rumble. I’m sure nobody is going to use this outside of its intended purpose!

How long until someone finds another use for that vibrate button?
Sounds like you already did 😛
It’s a solid system update. My Wi-Fi signal is also noticeably improved, and my wii u arcade stick now works in USF2 and shovel knight!
My wifi is no longer working -_-
How does it sound on a surface that doesn’t transmit sound so well though? If the kids have dropped them behind the couch or it’s slipped under a cushion will you still hear anything?
Finding lost controllers on Nintendo Switch’s new system update that would be so cool to help me where my missing Nintendo Switch controllers are.
What weird kind of bot are you?
He reminds me of a poster we used to have back at Aussie-Nintendo. Well, a couple actually. One was just an amusing troll account, but the other guy was legit.
Oh man, aussie-nintendo was THE BEST!
Was my hang. Met loads of the guys from there, did midnight launches.
Good times.
Wait what? Who were you on there? I don’t remember a cubits at all, I friggen lived at that place.
Unless you’d left by 07-08 or so, those were still my early days.
I’ve always been Cubits. Can’t remember the exact timeframe i was there, but it was a few years during the ds/wii. Pretty sure i was there right to the end.
Originally IGN was my spot, but it went to crap and i found aussie nintendo. Then i tried negative world but it was weird, went back to IGN to find it was a garbage fire, then some years at nintendo enthusiast.
Kotaku barely scratches the local community itch compared to AN.
Hmm. Were you just there during phpBB2 days, or were you still around for the jump to vB4? I think I wasn’t so much around for the former, moreso the latter. Though the end wasn’t til late 2013, shortly after most people made the jump to Another-Castle. Would’ve been sporting this as an avatar though. Wondering why on earth I can’t remember seeing you around if you were so involved you were going to meets and stuff 😛
But yeah, sorely missing the days of Old Internet. Nothing’s quite the same any more, even here’s died pretty hard. Always seems to come down to damn web developers, redesigning and breaking sites and driving everyone away.
Ha, just had Leon77 pop up saying he remembers you. How about that 😛
I LIVE!
How about a black theme that is actually black?
