the full launch back a bit” to give it more time to polish the popular shooter.
The original plan was a six-month stint in Early Access, followed by a proper launch. However, a community post on the game’s Steam hub states that the timeline has changed in order to avoid “disappointment within the community”:
…I’ve come to realize that restricting the window to a specific month could hinder us from delivering a fully featured game and/or lead to disappointment within the community if the launch deadline is not met.
So, we have decided that we are going push the full launch back a bit from the initial six-month timeframe, but want to assure you that we are still planning a full release before the end of Q4 2017.
The end result is the game will likely stay in Early Access a few extra months, time Bluehole can almost certainly afford. Seeing as the game can be bought and played right now, the consequences for players are minor.
I think it’d take an additional delay or two before people start raising eyebrows. While there’s nothing wrong with sticking with Early Access, it’s probably best not to become one of those games that remains there in seeming perpetuity.

The game is in a very playable state right now, so they should take their time to make sure the game is all it can be when fully released.
N key playing up m8?
Fixed! Thanks for calling it out.
Love this game.
As a new player, it’s tense as shit.
I hope it never loses that luster… So far every game has been enjoyable.
I played it for about 20 hours, then uninstalled it the other week. Got sick of the same island, same predictable gameplay strategies, same legal hacks with turning off shadow rendering, same lack of replayability once you’d put in as much time as I had, same annoying reality of spending 3/4 of the gameplay running to stay ahead of/get to the shrinking gameplay region…overhyped, and briefly intense.
This game is like a big sugar hit, including the very temporary high.
Grab some chicken din dins, you cant give up before even 1 🙂
After you get a few Chicken Dinners you’ll probably find your hands don’t shake anymore after the round, but even at 90+ hours there’s still places I haven’t been to on the map and each fire fight is still tense. The rush isn’t what it was but the calmer me plays better. (the final bullet before the victory screen is always satisfying)
I’m getting over this after around 40 hours of play time. Some amazing moments sure .. but tiring of the 15-20 mins of looting.. to then die without firing a weapon 😐
im glad for bluehole, they deserve this after their persistance
280 hours to date.. yeah i still get the heart beating fast even after my 50+ chicken dinners..
