SimCity’s Unreleased NES Port Has Been Found

Did you know Sim City was going to come to the NES?

While I can’t promise that listening to one of the world’s most annoying kids will brighten your morning, it’s cool to see someone unearth footage of the iconic city-builder. According to Nintendo Age, after a fortunate series of events both of the NES SimCity carts will even be playable at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo.

SimCity was ported to many home consoles, including the Sega Saturn, N64, Wii, PlayStation, and the SNES as well. But according to Unseen64 and NES World, the game was never released “because of bad timing”, although precisely why the game was cancelled it’s not known.
