Rez Infinite Hits Steam And Oculus Today

Enhance Games will release Rez Infinite for Steam and Oculus Home today, the studio said this morning. So now you don’t need a PlayStation 4 to enjoy the ultimate version of Tetsuya Mizuguchi’s classic synaesthesia shooter.

While VR support is a major feature of this release, it isn’t a requirement; you can play the $US24.99 ($32) Steam version of Rez Infinite in desktop mode at resolutions up to 4K. You can play it with a standard PC gamepad, and even attach more of them for some good ol’ Trance Vibration.

But if you want to experience its full majesty in VR, you can use a Vive or an Oculus Rift (and yeah, you can download it on Steam and use Oculus). It’s compatible with the Vive motion controllers and the Oculus Touch for aiming, and you can also use the little remote wand that comes with the Oculus.

This version also features “View Mode”, which lets you move the game’s camera around arbitrarily by hitting V on the keyboard during play.

A version of the game for Google Daydream will be released later, Enhance said.

For the first month of the game’s release, you’ll get some bonus content, including wallpapers, a seven-track digital OST sampler, and avatars. There will also be a limited collector’s edition of the PC version at iam8bit.
