Need some Voltron to be excited about while waiting for the second half of Voltron: Legendary Defender‘s great third season, masquerading itself as season four? Well, good news: Lion Forge is bringing back its comic book companion to the show later this spring.

Revealed by Nerdist today, the second Legendary Defender miniseries — the first ran between the show’s first and second seasons last year — will be written by show writers Tim Hedrick and Mitch Iverson, with art by Jung Gwan Yoo and Rubine. Although it isn’t certain when exactly the series is set within the show’s canon, you probably wanna be caught up with the series just in case.
What’s especially fun about the comics are that they allow some of the Paladins that get less attention in the show to shine — case in point, the first issue will spotlight hapless yellow lion pilot Hunk:
Voltron responds to a distress call, and discovers a group of alien settlers on a mining planet under attack by Galra. While Voltron escorts the convoy of rescued settlers to their new home, Hunk finds himself the center of attention and our team encounters the first challenge: a horrifying monster that requires an unusual solution.
Even if the wait for a new “season” is a little shorter this time around, it’s still nice to have more Voltron in another form to make the wait for new lion action even shorter. Voltron: Legendary Defender is set to launch alongside the fourth season of the show in October.
