Christopher Priest has written some of the most imaginative and thrilling comics of the past 30 years and starting this summer, he’s bringing all of his talents to DC’s flagship Justice League series with a new story arc titled “Lost”.
Beginning issue #34 out this December, “Lost” finds the Justice League in a state of disarray after Batman makes a crucial error of judgement as a result of having lost too much sleep. According to Priest, the events of “Lost” force the League to take a look in the mirror and begin to question whether or not the world still needs them and how they, a group of living gods, relate to society.
Said Priest:
“My goal is to treat the Justice League more like a workplace drama,” he reveals. “Although we will, of course, still have world threats, nasty villains (including Deathstroke!), and alien armadas, the League’s greater challenge will be to define their place in this new and increasingly cynical age.”
Priest will be joined by artist Pete Woods when they take over Justice League later this year, and promised that we can all look forward to seeing Aquaman driving a bus. It isn’t quite riding a parademon as you’re falling out of the sky, but it’s a start.
