Harvey Norman's Flogging Games For Cheap Again

Harvey isn't usually the first retailer gamers go to for a bargain. But every now and again HN throws up a deal worth looking at. Like this one.

The prices are all listed on the Harvey Norman website, and that's probably the best avenue to go through if you want to guarantee a bargain. Most of the discounts are on console games, but there's the odd offer on PC titles.

For ease of use, games below are listed from cheapest to most expensive.

Fallout 4 (PS4): $20
Call of Duty Infinite Warfare (PS4/XBO): $20
Dishonored 2 (PS4/XBO): $20
Battlefield 1 (PC): $20, $30 for PS4/XBO
Mafia 3 (PS4/XBO): $20
Watch Dogs 2 (PS4/XBO): $20
Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain (XBO): $30
Skyrim Special Edition (PS4/XBO): $30
Injustice 2 (PS4/XBO): $30
Destiny 2 (Pre-order): $59

Pretty good mix of offerings around the $20 mark. Battlefield 1 will be a good buy at that price, although Watch Dogs 2 and Dishonored 2 are absolute steals for those who haven't played them already. And even though it's a pre-order, that's not a bad deal for Destiny 2 on PC. (If you want it on console, you'll have to pay an extra $10.)

I still have Watch Dogs and Mafia II in my pile of shame.

Should I get their sequels? WD2 was rated better than 1 but the MIII had really terrible scores.
Is it worth spending $20 + delivery on these games especially since I haven't played their prequels...?

I played Mafia III having never played any of the previous titles (I've since played some of II) and I enjoyed it.
And Watch_Dogs 2 is definitely better than the first one.

If you think that you'll actually play them, rather than have them join their prequels in your pile of shame, then yes. But if you just want to grow your pile of shame, there are cheaper ways to go about it. :)

Game play wise WD2 is better, but story wise, its a mess, simply because of how free form it is. There never feels like there is a set line to the story because of how things are done. And you feel like you should be half way though a mission, but the game is like 'Nope, your cool, go do other stuff, and then come back to save your friend'. There was no scene of emergency or anything like in WD1. For all of WD1s problems, it told its story better than WD2. That is not saying WD1 story was better or worse than WD2, more HOW it was presented was better.

Well I bit the bullet and bought both MIII and WD2. $46 delivered for 2 games is still quite a deal even though they aren't reviewed well.
I'll probably play them when MIV and WD3 comes out :-P

I got both just before Christmas I enjoyed Madia III but I just couldn't get into WD2 maybe it was the character I'm not sure but I've barely touched it, I really liked WD1 so was bit disappointing.

Watch Dogs 2, while a better world and game than the first, is boring and the characters are crap. The entire game feels like a group of hipsters running around while sprouting 'cool' and 'hip' dialogue.

It tries to inject some Saints Row humour while making the hacking more exciting. But it all fails. This coming from a guy who enjoyed the first and went into the second expecting the same type of game just better.

Definitely get Watch_Dogs 2, it's the most recent game i've managed to play, and it was pretty awesome. Mafia III is alright, it's no Mafia II however. Still a decent game, just expect a lot of racism, racial slurs & sometimes annoying game mechanics.

When you select the platform Battlefield 1 is $20 for PC only.
    PS4 and Xbox is $30.
    Just saying.

If you have an Xbox you'd prob be better off getting EA Access anyway

Dammit, I just bought Injustice 2 for $60 a week ago from Big W. EB still have it for $100

was going to get injustice but that $15 delivery charge is a bit steep (and my local store has no stock)

THIS! It's a pretty ridiculous amount to pay for delivery in this day and age.

For anyone looking at Destiny 2, that's actually the regular price at JB so it's not exactly a big savings.

Why is destiny 2 so cheap for a new game? Am I missing something?

Thats the normal price. People are just used to EB Games overcharging.

The normal price is $99; EB Games are charging the RRP, which is the same as the digital editions on XBL and PSN. EBG are not "overcharging", other retailers are just heavily discounting D2 already. You can get it for $64 at Big W.

As much as I like a bargain. We shouldn't be throwing any light on anything from Harvey Norman, especially seeing they heavily lobbied the Government into taxing online purchases. We got sold out by a couple of bogan used vacuum salesman.

These arent really amazing prices. You could find these games for the same price At JBHifi or EBGames.

Where else could you get Injustice 2 brand new for $30??

EBGames / JB Hifi / Harvey Norman Prices:

      Fallout 4 (PS4): $50 / $38 / $20
      Call of Duty Infinite Warfare (PS4/XBO): $99 / $89 /$20
      Dishonored 2 (PS4/XBO): $49 / $49 / $20
      Battlefield 1 (PC): $60 / $39 / $20 (PS4/XBO): $60 / $49 / $30
      Mafia 3 (PS4/XBO): $60 / $70 / $20
      Watch Dogs 2 (PS4/XBO): $70 / $69 / $20
      Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain (XBO): $50 / $49 / $30
      Skyrim Special Edition (PS4/XBO): $80 / $69 / $30
      Injustice 2 (PS4/XBO): $100 / $69 / $30
      Destiny 2 (Pre-order): $100 / $69 / $59

Next time don't make false claims without doing research.

Did i state right at this moment? Nope. Nice try though buddy boy :)

Don't forget guys! Eb Games price matches!

Eh, a lot of the time now they only do that if the shop in question is located in the same shopping centre or very close by, also if they have stock..

Yeah remember the EB Games satisfaction price returns guarantee if you buy a game from them and you don't like the game you're playing just bring it back and they will be happy to either exchange it or give you your money back. Also don't forget that you can also trade in your old games to put your trade credit towards new games. Also JB Hi-Fi has there price guarantee as well meaning if the price drops before the release date you will only pay the lowest price possible Harvey Norman don't have that many amazing prices on games but both EB Games and JB Hi-Fi do have amazing prices on selected games so I'd rather just shop at both EB Games and JB Hi-Fi if I'm after a bargain for a Nintendo Switch game.

Postage for one of the games was going to be $14.99
But when I put two in it switched to $9.99

But now Dishonoured 2 is on back order.
