If your internet connection is powerful enough to buffer a 4K video, and you really want to see how racers are coming along, here's a snippet of gameplay from Need for Speed: Payback.
The 4K footage comes courtesy of NVIDIA's YouTube channel, which is also in 60 FPS. That's helpful as well, because previous Need for Speed games have been locked at 30 FPS on launch (although the most recent reboot was patched a few months after launch).
It's what you'd expect for the most part: a checkpoint race involving drifting, dodging incoming traffic, going through tunnels, and barrelling over a signpost or two. The UI actually looks like a slightly less sleeker Forza Horizon 3 - the HUD elements are much larger, more in your face - while the environment is a bit reminiscent of the locations from Need for Speed Rivals.
If you're interested, here's the recommended requirements for playing the new NFS at 1080p/60 fps:
CPU: Intel i5 4690K @ 3.5GHz or AMD FX 8350 @ 4.0GHz with 4 hardware threads
HARD DRIVE: 30GB
VIDEO: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or equivalent
Pretty straightforward, then. NFS: Payback is due out on PC and consoles November 10.
