You can get Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain with your PlayStation Plus membership in October. There’s also the Amnesia collection, which has both The Dark Descent and A Machine for Pigs, two games I’m too scared to play.
As always, these games are only “free” if you have an active PlayStation Plus account.
October’s PS Plus lineup is:
PlayStation 4
-
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
-
Amnesia: Collection
PlayStation 3
-
Monster Jam Battlegrounds
-
Hustle Kings
PlayStation Vita
- Hue (crossbuy with PS4)
- Sky Force Anniversary (crossbuy with PS4 and PS3)

Another awesome line up, even though I already have MGSIV and I’m not sure how I’d go with Amnesia. Sony are picking up their game with their AAA titles, I like it!
I too have MGS5 but damn that’s good if you don’t. I tried Amnesia way-back-when, progressed very little and was way too spooked. But I feel i can try again, so A+’s from me
Wow, did not expect MGS
I mean, Konami know right? They didn’t sign off on this thinking it was MGS Pachinko yeah?
That is a hell of a step up for PS Plus! I’m stunned. Unfortunately I already own MGSV and both Amnesia games, but if you don’t you should absolutely add these to your library for the sheer value.
Great line up!!! Sadly I have those games, as they were included in one of the recent sales. I think MGSV was about 13 bucks!
If you haven’t played MGSV this is a stellar line-up. Despite the negativity about the game being “unfinished”, the core gameplay is top notch and well worth a playthrough, even though I will admit the game outstays its welcome in the latter third.
After enjoying Soma and Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture I have been interested in A Machine for Pigs but never got around to playing it.
I already have the amnesia games on steam, but am looking forward to trying Metal Gear Solid V. I’ve never played a MGS game, so this will be a first for me.
I regret getting rid of my copy of phantom pain so this will be worth it for me. Hopefully I have toughened up a bit and psycho and his brining man replica don’t scare the crap out of me this time around.
Been waiting to reduce my pile of shame before trying MGSV. Looks like I’m just going to be adding to it.
