XCOM 2: War of the Chosen is a very good arts and crafts game that also includes the occasional tactical battle against aliens. Show me your best posters!
I’ll get the ball rolling with some of mine. For the sake of avoiding spoilers, I’m gonna stick with some of my early game masterpieces.
This is one of the first ones I ever decided to customise, as opposed to just randomising it. I made it right after my squad just barely survived Lightning, the tragic co-star of my War of the Chosen review, getting mind-controlled by a sectoid. Thus, the caption:
This one is like Where’s Waldo, except instead of Waldo, the guy’s a sniper:
That lighting, though:
Lost cities are great for action shots, what with all the corpses just kinda chilling out everywhere. This one is really fitting, too, given that it’s from the time Thunder/Odin and her rookie partner barely survived an Advent ambush and a Lost horde:
Bonus, another angle:
In the game’s actual written narrative, Mox and Outrider don’t really see eye-to-eye. So of course, I forced them to be best friends:
Look at this team. We’re gonna do great:
That feeling when a crucial mission goes entirely off rails after a Snake King shows up, and you just barely succeed after a million close calls:
Lastly, R.I.P. Lightning, alternate edition:
Those are just a few of mine. Show me yours, and don’t skimp on the details of the stories that inspired them!

After an avenger defense mission: https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/851599216716030867/6273B6873580B0AC885257DD709A119FD23461A1/
Subtle. I like it haha
Nice.
I just completed one myself. Tried to get the Avenger in the background, couldn’t get a good angle though.
If you have a Reaper available, send them to knock out the spike. No need for additional soldiers to venture too far from the ramp, Reapers can sneak up to the spike, kill it, then stealth and return, all on their own.
Oh that’s a good tip thank you
That’s actually what I did here – she wasn’t even revealed because I used a claymore. You can do similar stuff on most missions that are like ‘hack the terminal before the time limit’ or ‘plant X4 on a thing’. Because enemy detection radius is so small for them in shadow, it’s usually pretty safe to just send the reaper ahead to take care of the objective before time runs out while the rest of the squad moves up more carefully.
Also really useful as a spotter for sharpshooters on mission types where you need to shoot at a thing. I never got much mileage out of stealth rangers in the base game, but I think shadow is low-key one of the most powerful abilities in the game.
you can take these poster shots mid battle? I thought they were only for after mission reports. I have another 10 now, nothing over the top thought.
