Some Amazing Cosplay From Sydney Oz Comic Con

Some Amazing Cosplay From Sydney Oz Comic Con

The last Oz Comic Con has now been and gone — and what better setting for it than the beautifully renovated International Convention Centre in Sydney. After being stuck for years at a frankly unphotogenic location, cosplayers and photographers alike took advantage of the new building to take some beautiful photos.

The Sydney event also hosted the final round of the Australian Championships of Cosplay — after the Sydney winner was picked from the final state round, all the state finalists went head to head.

The winner was Sydney’s finalist, A.K. Wirru, whose life-size Bahamut cosplay towered over the rest of the entrants. To find out more about what went into making (and wearing) this behemoth cosplay, check out his Q&A video in our cosplay Facebook group.

    • Yup, that’s me! It was one of the photos Charmaine submitted to me for the article.

I’m proud of how that costume turned out and in love with the beautiful photo captured by Charmaine, so I chose to include it alongside all the other wonderful pictures featured. (Don’t worry, I don’t make any money off any of my cosplay stuff either!)
