Star Wars Battlefront 2 is off to a rough start with crummy lootboxes and unpopular unlockables. Thankfully, everyone’s favourite smuggler is living life with no reservations and isn’t afraid to show it.
Most of Battlefront 2‘s campaign focuses on Iden Versio, an Imperial commando struggling to survive after the Empire’s defeat at the Battle of Endor, but every now and then the perspective changes to some of our favourite heroes. About halfway through the game, we get to see Han Solo make make contact with an Imperial defector at Maz Kanata’s castle on Takodana. He looks like you’d expect, wearing his signature vest and rocking a chunky blaster pistol. There’s just a tiny difference.
No, friends, it isn’t a miniature Wookiee on Han’s face. That’s a beard, and a pretty terrible one at that. It instantly turns the smooth-talking smuggler into an interstellar version of The Dude from The Big Lebowski. I’m fairly certain this is a reference to the Aftermath series of books, which, like Battlefront 2, are set in the events following Return of the Jedi. That’s some good continuity, as well as a good reminder that Han, like everyone, has made a few mistakes in his life. If you’re eager to make the same mistake, you can even equip this look as a skin in the multiplayer.
Let’s get one more look at that beard:

I can see the micro-transactions now.
$0.47 will remove the beard.
$0.66 will ensure he shoots first.
Fingers crossed people won’t buy this game.
EA removed their refund button from their website so dont worry people are cancelling.
Is this going to have double DRM and chew at least %30 of your CPU usage also just for the DRM processing?
Don’t worry, the game won’t have double DRM that takes 30% of the CPU.
Instead it will have four layers of DRM, VM protect and Steam so at a bare minimum it will need 78% of your CPU.
Still less than Adobe products.
For just $9.95 a month you can upgrade your DRM to a version that only consumes 15% of your CPU’s bandwidth!
In the future, maybe.
EA are currently working on trying to make the Save and Load functions first time purchase DLC that costs $40 for second hand sales.
Looks like they didn’t wanna pay Harrison Ford royalties lol
