Here’s How The System Shock Reboot Is Coming Along

Nightdive Studios has been working on a remake of the original System Shock for a while. And since we haven’t seen much of the game since the initial demo was released, here’s how the reboot is coming along.

In a lengthy update for backers posted earlier today, Night Dive developers talked through some of the progress made with the Looking Glass remake.

The video runs for just under 9 minutes and covers the direction of System Shock‘s artstyle, how level design is progressing, and different bits and pieces that the developers are testing (like the dismemberment system).

The biggest adjustment from the footage here and the demo – which you can play on Steam – is a change to the overall aesthetic. The reboot has a bit less of a retro-inspired aesthetic, but it’s still very early days for the most part.
