Tokyo shopping complex Parco is being rebuilt. Instead of boring white barriers around the construction site, the temporary walls are covered in Akira murals.

The first part of the mural was unveiled this past May, and in the months that followed, other sections have been added.
The “A.D. 2019” refers to when Parco will re-open.

That did it. I’ve got to buy the manga now.
Actually started reading the graphic novels the other week and worked through the first three volumes in one sitting.
Couldn’t put them down due to this fleshy mass that came from the pages and pinned me to my chair!
