Mortal Kombat studio NetherRealm have announced that joining the previously announced Atom in Injustice 2‘s next DLC will be Enchantress and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Ahead of the game’s PC release on November 14, a trailer revealed late yesterday during the Injustice 2 Championship playoffs showed the characters joining Batman, Superman, and the rest of DC’s alternate-timeline fighters. The Atom will be available first starting on November 12 with the others to follow shortly after.
The shrinking man and magical antihero are par for the course but New York’s favourite pizza-loving reptiles is a pleasant surprise. The turtles have appeared in a number of comic book cross-overs in recent years, including alongside Gotham’s caped crusader, but this is the first time Leonardo and the crew will appear beside Batman and the rest in an actual video game.
While the trailer shows off everyone in in a cool CGI cutscene, it doesn’t demonstrate how they will all work in the game. Since NetherRealms isn’t in the habit of adding six playable characters per DLC pack, it’s likely the turtles will play as a group with one being selectable while the others offer assist attacks from off stage.

This also the first time the turtles have appeared in a fighting game since Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters, an early 90s arcade game that was eventually ported to consoles and still enjoys a strong underground following to this day.
The characters will also be included in the Ultimate Edition of the game, so if you haven’t picked Injustice 2 up yet (and you really should if you like fighting games) you might want to look at that version.

Also the Turtles did appear in another fighting game: There was a Smash Bros clone on Wii or GameCube.
Also, WHY the Enchantress? She’s a throwaway character that served as the main cause of derailment for the Suicide Squad film (other that Leto’s terrible, beef-triggered Joker).
What about Zatanna? Or even Klarion the Witch Boy? That woulda been HEAPS more interesting!
Agreed! I would have loved Klarion or Zatanna way more than Enchantress.
That said, the idea of somehow playing as the four Turtles (possibly via the Character Power), sounds cool as hell.
They even got the proper turtles from the original movies, not the god awful newer movies.
Michael Bay doesn’t make movies. He makes mistakes.
I’d say it’s probably more likely they will work in a similar way to the way Tri-Borg works in Mortal Kombat X.
TMNT: TF wasn’t ever an arcade game, it was developed exclusively for consoles. There was three distinctly different versions though – one for the NES, one for the SNES and one for the Mega Drive.
I don’t know how you got that wrong when the wikipedia article you actually linked to has the correct information.
