This Week In Games: Xenoblade Chronicles 2

Silly season is winding down. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is out towards the end of the week. Then there’s only a handful of games coming out this week and a good number of them are Switch ports.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (Switch)

What is it? A giant JRPG with a neat mish-mash of fantasy and sci-fi.
Should you care? If you have even the slightest interest in JRPGs, this game will be your jam.

Black Mirror (PS4, XBO, PC)

What is it? A gothic horror game that has nothing to do with the TV show.
Should you care? Not sick of exploring haunted mansions while slowing going insane? Then maybe.

Outcast: Second Contact (PS4, XBO)

What is it? The first open world action-adventure game, remade for modern platforms.
Should you care? You can ride alien dinosaurs.

Azure Striker Gunvolt: Striker Pack (Switch)

What is it? Fast-paced side scrolling action ported to the Switch.
Should you care? The original 3DS games were ridiculous in all the right ways.

Rime (Switch)

What is it? Solve puzzles as you explore an island, it’s kind of pretty.
Should you care? I lost interest halfway through writing the last sentence.

Other than Xenoblade Chronicles 2, it’s slim pickings this week. Good thing there were some ridiculous sales over the weekend to tide you over until the next batch of shiny new releases.
