On Saturday, players noticed that survival shooter PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds featured cameltoe, or clothed labia, on its test servers’ female models. The game’s developers say that wasn’t intentional, however, and as of a patch last night, Battlegrounds‘ female characters are exposed no more.
Players first noticed last weekend that Battlegrounds‘ test server had made a slight change to the anatomies of its female characters:

Yep – that’s cameltoe, although perhaps the second image is a little exaggerated.
A day later, the game’s developer deemed the design alteration an accident. “It appears it came as part of the character model we received from an outsourcer when we first started the project,” developer Brendan Greene wrote on Twitter. It had mistakenly made its way onto the test server after an update. So, a day after that, the models were exchanged:
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds fans who wanted to look at a woman’s labia while they hid in a dirty bathroom had their very brief fan service, but in the end, a mistake is a mistake.
The great moral here is that players noticed something awry, it turned out to be an error and, swiftly and with no argument, the developers fixed it. May other developers be as receptive.
