Yakko, Wakko and Dot’s “pay-or-play contracts” have been renewed! The much-loved Warner Bros. animated series Animaniacs is being brought to Hulu with all-new seasons. And yes, executive producer Steven Spielberg is along for the ride.

Hulu has picked up two brand-new seasons of Animaniacs, which will feature Yakko, Wakko and Dot, along with side characters such as Pinky and the Brain. Spielberg will executive produce with Warner Bros. president Sam Register and Amblin Television’s co-presidents. In a press release, Register said, “Parents who grew up with the cartoon now have new episodes to share with their own families.”
This news comes with the announcement that the entire library of original-run Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain; Pinky, Elmyra and the Brain; and Tiny Toon Adventures are available now on Hulu – which is unfortunately unavailable in Australia. The new Animaniacs will debut in 2020, but Australian distribution has not yet been confirmed.
Rumours have been swirling around a reboot of the series since last year, but it’s great to hear it’s actually happening. According to the press release, the famous Warner brothers, Yakko and Wakko, along with sister Dot, have been trapped in the water tower ever since their series ended in 1998 – which sounds kind of depressing, but also hilarious because that means a whole lot of pent-up energy to mess around with. Will their 2020 exploits involve more “finger prints”? Only time will tell. It is supposed to be a family show. Good night, everybody!

I doubt they will get away with the same kinda jokes they used to have
Maybe if it were on TV, but streaming shouldn’t be a problem. I’m more interested in whether the other segments will be back; I preferred them to the Warners.
All new episodes of Pinky and the brain, where brain builds an animatronic human disguise of a famous billionaire, and runs for president?
That already sounds like an old episode – these days, it feels like life is satire, so they’ll have lift their game to out-ridiculous current events.
Hopefully, someone other than Foxtel will pick it up.
I just hope the voice cast returns. I know it’s not the same writers, but please bring back the voice cast
