Australia Is Getting A Pub Made Entirely Of Lego!

Get your best dancing, hard-sole shoes on because a Legobar is coming to Australian cities this year and yes, it is exactly what it sounds like.

If you've ever thought "Lego and beer are perfect for each other", then the Legobar is a pop-up bar built specifically for you. Currently, the only information we have on the Legobar is that it "will feature sculptures made completely from lego bricks as well as an abundance of blocks for people to shape into their own creations". An 'abundance of blocks' is terrifying for my fragile, weak toes.

Man, I hope they have a Millennium Falcon set though.

The bar will also feature live music, with a DJ dropping tunes 'all day'.

I can't imagine that it's anthem will be anything but Ed Sheeran's 'Lego House'. Every night at closing time, as the dim lights begin to flare back into life, there will be much rejoicing. All the patrons will gather and they'll scream at the top of their lungs, beer sloshing around in their pint glasses "I'M GONNA PICK UP THE PIECES AND BUILD A LEGO HOUSE!" before waffling through the back half of the song because "who really knows the words anyway, right, Darren?"

I can already picture it. It's glorious.

(If you're reading this Legobar and you haven't thought of that idea yet, call me)

The first-of-its-kind bar is building up to a launch sometime in Autumn 2018 and are set to hit Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.

If you're excited for creating Lego masterpieces while drinking beer, then you should pre-register your interest at the Legobar website ASAP. Access will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Let's hope that excess Lego beer consumption doesn't result in shitting bricks.

As if your usual pubs floors weren't enough reason to keep your shoes on, this place sounds like a potential circle of hell.

    [Head explodes]

Yes I'm going to be that person.. They are planing to use just over a million bricks. That's around 1.4 tons of Lego and around the same amount of Lego they used on Mythbusters to make a 7ft ball.

It's either going to be a very small bar or they have vastly underestimated the amount of blocks they will need

"Pop up bar" implies it will fit no more than 5 people at a time.

Honestly if they manage to actually fit 5 people in it, then it will be a miracle

Referred to James May's Toy Stories Lego episode to see how many blocks they used to build an actual house-sized structure.

According to Wiki, it took 3.3 million bricks to make a two-storey house, so 1 million for a small bar might not be entirely implausible.

Jackson, why didn't you call out the lack of SA option? You love SA! Where were you?
