God bless you for putting this list together, Tegan.

      *Looks at wallet*

      Damn you, Tegan!

        @highperformance

        Sorry not sorry ;)

So glad my New Year's Resolution is "no new games until I've finished some old games..."

Wait, Monster Hunter World on 26 Jan... I might last that long then...

Is it just me being blind or does the Xbox one have a major exclusive shortage for the year, I can only see 2 pure Xbox exclusives, 3 if you count Xbox/pc.

The ps4 has 20 exclusives, 27 if you count ps4/pc releases. Microsoft needs to get a lot of those pc games onto the Xbox as exclusives.

Not just you mate. I'm a Sony boy through and through but the Ponies need some competition to keep them sharp. Microsoft needs to get their act together.

Yep, I have no idea what in the hell they are doing. I chose Xbox after a stellar effort last gen.. this gen has been pathetic. I can't see it getting any better for at least another year. Really poor decision making on their part. Everyone praised Phil Spencer when he took over.. now we can see he hasn't done enough.

Yes, I finally get to be that guy!
      *Clears throat*

OMFG THERE"S A SPELL ERROR "Praey for the Gods"

*Raises hand for high five and left awkwardly in the air*

Guys? Am I cool now? Guuuuuys?

      Seriously thou, good looking list

Unfortunately, that spelling is actually "correct" for the game in question:
        www.praeyforthegods.com

Bethesda bullied the indie game Pray for the gods to change it because Bethesda released Prey which was also a game that had fk all to to with the original Prey.. AAA publishers.. Fk 'em all.

The game actually looks decent, Kind of like a shadow of the colossus.

It's amazing how few of these games I actually give a shit about. And even a lot of the ones I DO give a shit about I doubt will actually make their release dates (I'm a Shenmue III kickstarter backer, but I seriously doubt it'll actually make 2018).

But seriously, they're making a proper 4th installment to the original The Bard's Tale trilogy...?

2018 is looking more like a breather year. After how dense last year with "must-plays", I have no complaints at all. There's a few Switch games I'll pick up (Bayonetta and Necrobarista will be musts) and I'll be keeping an eye on Call of C'thulhu (I'm pretty sure they got a few people who write campaigns for the pen and paper version to write/consult on that one) but apart from that, I'm happy to play what I have for now.

Except Untitled Goose Game, that is required

I love Lovecraft, But ppl always get Lovecraft wrong, "The greatest human emotion is fear, The greatest kind of fear, Is fear of the unknown" So Lovecraft is mystery not horror & jumpscares, Hopefully the Official Call of Cthulhu game gets it right.

Bloodborne is the only good Lovecraft game.

Someone put me in a freezer and thaw me out once all the games on the list are fully patched GOTY editions at $19.95 each.

        This.

It's my New New Year Resolution, I just saw Witcher 3 GOTY for $28 on PS4 and have updated my other New Year Resolution accordingly.

Someone forgot to close their italics html code. I think on the The American Dream entry?

      Great list though, very handy!

        @astrogirl

I think that may have broken the entire site. I should feel bad and yet it's more like pride :D

      >Dragon Quest Builders (PS4, Switch), Q1/Q2

Typo? DQBuilders came out over a year ago on PS4

I'm looking forward to Biomutant & possibly Ace Combat, Not so much Metro exodus but i'll buy it just to support them, I'm burnt out on the Artyom story of Metro, I want to see the other factions like the Satanists & the cult of the great worm or visit the emerald city.

Sigh, no Star Citizen. "Crawls back underneath the rock from which I came."

Apparently they're now on a quarterly schedule for relevant content releases. Anything ready for release at the end of each quarter gets rolled out, along with the typical patching and stuff to fix bugs.

The 3.0 version seems to have gotten over a lot of humps, so it'll be clearer through the year how close it really is for release.

Still not going to be 2018 though :(

SC Devs: "OMG. We haven't implemented a cooking system... which means we'll have to put in a hunting system, and farming, and supermarkets, and cafes and restaurants. We'll get on it right away. Realease date is now 2023."

Hunting system is delayed until we make sure the animals all have accurate circulatory systems for immersion. Release date is now 6 months after Half Life 3.

Now you're just being silly. Theres no way they'll develop the animal circulatory system before they've gotten that third party smell-o-rama dongle in place.

Theres no point doing the circulatory system until we can smell the animal farts it produces.

Jokes aside, I get the point. It ticks so many vaporware boxes its not funny. But there HAS been progress, which is more than you can say for most games in the same situation. All I'm saying is that theres now a real timetable - essentially, significant releases quarterly.

That doesnt mean they'll stick to it of course... For what its worth, i'm as cynical as the next guy with SC, but that doesnt change that they've now set a decent timetable, with what seems a good path towards release, whenever that is.

      Under Night In-Birth Exe: Late[st]

This is just utter gibberish. Has it lost something in translation, or does it also make no sense in Japanese?

I think the PS3 version was called Under Night In-Birth Exe, it was a PS plus offering at some point that I had to download because of it's name. If you like Arc System fighting games, it's worth a play.

The only thing that I can think of that isn't mentioned on here is UFO50, Derek Yu & co's compilation of 50 "forgotten" retro games. I'm not sure if there's been an official word that it's coming out in 2018 though, just assumption.

Missing 'A Way Out' March 23rd, or TBA 2018.

Fantastic list Teagan! That must've been a hell of a job collating all that.

Be interesting to see how this year lands compared to 2017! For games at least. I bet:
      - Biomutant comes out and is cool, but is slightly disappointing in that "it's jut these couple things that stop it from being amazing" way
      - everyone loses their shit at Red Dead, either because it's the best thing ever or because it's multiplayer only / has monetisation up the wazoo
      - there will be a Call of Duty in November
      - The Switch will have a lot of games to add to this list and will have a strong second year
      - Far Cry 5 is going to cause a maelstrom of social media attention, both from the "it's a fun Far Cry game!" And the "this thing 100% screws up politically" camps

      I wonder how I'll do.

A new Mechwarrior game? That's awesome!

Now if only the Xbone could have some more exclusives coming out as ours is collecting dust =O

Darksiders 3 ? When was that brought back?

Any chance the unnamed Tomb Raider game will be coming out - and for PC? The tease that was posted late last year seemed to suggest a big reveal followed by a release soon after? E3?
