It certainly looks like a Fumita Ueda game.
If you’re well versed in the development cycle of The Last Guardian, you might remember the uproar when it was announced that Fumita Ueda had actually left Sony, created his own studio, and was working on his oft-delayed video game on a contract basis.
GenDESIGN was the studio Ueda created, and the above screenshot might just be their first video game.
It was posted on the GenDESIGN website on January 1 to celebrate the new year.
On the site it’s a super huge, long png image. Click here to check it out.
There are two crucial parts. First, the above image, which you can see above. A pale girl bathed in light.
The second, some sort of monster looking thing, which is obscured to her right, and seems enormous.
Alrighty then.
Apparently the words ‘Beauty and the Beast’ are inside the source code of the PNG file, but that could mean anything to be honest — could just be an internal title of the screenshot — but could signal the type of game we’re in for and some of the potential themes.
