This Week In Games: Railways And Rainmakers

With Monster Hunter World out of the way, the bulk of January comes to a close. There’s still a few major releases this week – the latest UFC game among them – but for the most part it’s an opportunity for the indies to shine.

Here’s what’s out this week:

  • UFC 3 (PS4, XBO)
  • The Master (PC)
  • I Love My Brother (PC)
  • Dissidia Final Fantasy NT (PS4)
  • Digital Domain’s Monkey King (Rift/Vive)
  • Bankster (PC)
  • Avernum 3: Ruined World (PC)
  • Out of Ammo (PSVR)
  • Railway Empire (PC, PS4, XBO)
  • Wulverblade (PS4, XBO)
  • Cold Iron (PSVR, Rift, Vive)
  • Strikers Edge (PC, PS4)
  • Night in the Woods (Switch)
  • Her Majesty’s SPIFFING (Switch)
  • Sky Force Reloaded (Switch)
  • SteamWorld Dig (Switch)
  • Island Flight Simulator (Switch)
  • We Were Here Too (PC)

Interesting mix of titles. Railway Empire, for the record, is scheduled to hit consoles this week after launching on PC a few days ago. We Were Here Too is a co-op adventure where two players are trapped in different parts of a castle, and have to communicate via walkie-talkies to escape. (Unless you want to sacrifice your partner.) The excellent Night in the Woods comes to the Switch as well.

So that’s the bulk of what’s out this week. Anything catch your eye, or you still working through a backlog (or picking up Monster Hunter World)? Let us know!
