There may be a complicated puzzle hidden inside Destiny 2‘s newest expansion, Warmind. Or maybe excited fans just want there to be. Either way, it’s been fun to watch.
The madness started when Destiny 2 players found an elaborate symbol on a wall in the bunker of Rasputin, the sentient robot who everyone thought lived on Earth but apparently was actually on Mars the whole time because Destiny. The art immediately stands out as something worth noticing – it’s a big lock surrounded by keys and other symbols:
The intrepid secret hunters of r/raidsecrets have already started making incredible guesses as to what this could all mean, compiling their theories here.
It is difficult to overstate how deep this rabbit hole goes. Some players have tracked down symbols in the wild and tried to put them together, like a big, abstract jigsaw puzzle. Some have drawn connections between the puzzle and classical music notation. There’s even a secret message in Braille.
The running theory is that each portion of the symbol in Rasputin’s bunker corresponds to a step of the puzzle, and that once it’s all decoded, following each step in order will lead to some sort of cool reward. Although, really, the fact that it’s already been three days since Warmind and nobody has figured this out yet is reward enough.
It’s reminiscent of a more glorious time for Destiny, back in the days of Sleeper Simulant and Outbreak Prime, when the secret hunters of Destiny were at their peak. It’s nice to have the mystery back.

My guess its like most things in Destiny, a recycled asset from a storyline they trashed (they do that alot) cause they needed something pretty for a wall.
Did all the secret hunting in Destiny ever pay out beyond a few Easter eggs though?
I remember the extensive Vault of Glass exploration but I can’t recall if it ever resulted in anything.
(And most of the secrets I remember seeing were people clipping through areas of the map to access closed off DLC areas ahead of release)
Outbreak Prime was largely discovered by the community
“Congratulations! You solved it, now check out these old assets we repackaged as your reward.”
There are some gamers who really don’t care about rewards and just do things to have fun. I know that’s hard for some to understand.
The challenge is the reward.
If you still enjoy the game, more power to you.
Apparently you don’t understand that them reusing the same assets, repeatedly, and selling it as ‘new’ content is more than just a little distasteful to some. Especially when there are developers all over the shop doing more for a game with less resources, and with lower price tags to boot.
And if down voting basically anyone making light of the amount of so-called ‘new’ content that keeps coming with every ‘expansion’ Bungie release helps you sleep at night, go nuts… Even if it does make you as bad as those you complain about being on the ‘Destiiny hate train’.
WOO! DESTINY!

It led to some pretty freaking sweet IRL loot. So cool!
So its a geocache marketing campaign. Lame!
I thought the puzzle was why Bungie was continuing to screw up D2?
