A new report from Reuters is suggesting that Settlers of Catan maker and board game distributor Asmodee is in talks over a sale of the company that could value it at more than $2.25 billion.
Undisclosed sources have told the news wire that Asmodee, which is owned by private equity firm Eurazeo, is exploring a sale of the board game distributor.
Apart from Catan, Asmodee have the rights to distribute Pokemon cards in parts of Europe, as well as 7 Wonders, the X-Wing miniatures game, Twilight Imperium, Android: Netrunner, Arkham Horror and more. The report states that investment bankers have kicked off a sale process for Asmodee, although nothing has been finalised at this stage.
The Reuters noted that Asmodee made around €100 million ($158 million) in revenue over the last 12 months. Asmodee was bought out by Eurazeo in 2013 in a $US143 million (approx. $189 million).
