This Week In Games: The Gates Of Eternity Open

I hope you like long, involved stories. Because that’s the bulk of what’s on offer this week, with two heavy hitters in particular: the sequel to Pillars of Eternity and the much-awaited PC release of STEINS;GATE 0.

Beyond those two, it’s a fairly quiet week. Conan Exiles will flesh out the Xbox’s MMO offering this week, and the Switch continues to get more re-releases in the form of The Fall, Shantae and One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3.

Death Road to Canada also hits all consoles this week: developers delayed the game after the deadly van attack in Toronto, where 10 pedestrians were killed.

  • HellStar Squadron (PC)
  • STEINS;GATE 0 (PC)
  • Death Road to Canada (PS4, XBO, Switch)
  • Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Ultimate Edition (Switch, XBO)
  • Raging Justice (Switch)
  • The Fall (Switch)
  • One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 (Switch)
  • Johnny Turbo’s Sly Spy (Switch)
  • Immortal Redneck (Switch)
  • Varion (PC)
  • Conan Exiles (XBO)
  • Max: The Curse of Brotherhood (Switch)
  • Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire (PC)
  • Potemkin (PC)
  • RPGolf (PC)
  • Desire (PC)
  • Tacoma (PS4)
  • Laser League (PC, PS4)
  • Trailblazers (PC, PS4)
  • Hyper Sentinel (XBO, PS4, Switch)

So, let’s run through some of the games. Trailblazers is a racing game reminiscent of Fast RMX, except you can paint the track as you go. Take a look:

Laser League finally comes out of early access this week as well. It’s the latest game from the OlliOlli devs, and is a couch co-op game that’s all about laying traps and controlling an arena.

RPGolf is getting a Steam release this week after launching on mobiles last year. The foes on the golf course are a little more directly threatening than in Golf Story, but the general application of golf being a means to an end is the same here.

As a small reminder too, here’s the trailer for STEINS;GATE 0. It’s been out on consoles for a couple of years, although there’s something appealing about being able to play this on your laptop.

See anything you like this week? Anything major we missed? Let us know either way.
