This Week In Games: The Sky Returns

No Man’s Sky has come a long way since launch, but what does proper multiplayer in the Hello Games universe look like? We find out the answer to that this week, with the game dropping on Xbox One for the first time while the NEXT update hits all consoles.

That’s not the only release of note though: Banner Saga 3 drops across the board this week, consoles get some Mega Man X legacy action, and the 3DS gets a new Warioware game.

Here’s the bulk of titles out this week:

  • Train Sim World (PS4, XBO)
  • The Persistence (PSVR)
  • GO Vacation (Switch)
  • The Coma Recut (Switch)
  • Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 + 2 (PS4, XBO, Switch)
  • Hello Neighbor (Switch)
  • WarioWare Gold (3DS)
  • Runbow Deluxe Edition (Switch)
  • Ys: Memories Of Celceta (PC)
  • Chasm (PC)
  • The Banner Saga 3 (PC, PS4, XBO, Switch)
  • Runes of Magic (PC)
  • No Man’s Sky: NEXT (PC, PS4, XBO)

For those who missed the weird WarioWare trailer from the Nintendo Direct earlier this year, including some of the weird mini-games like picking your nose, here it is. Note that the release isn’t August 3 locally, but July 28 (this Saturday).

The Banner Saga 3 brings the turn-based Viking series to an end this week. If you need a refresher on the gameplay, or you’re curious to know how Stoic sets it all up, here’s 35 minutes of footage from the beginning. Note that this will probably spoil you a little for Banner Saga 1 and 2 if you haven’t played either game.

Done with Octopath Traveller? JRPG fans have something else to sink their teeth into this week with the PC port of Ys: Memories of Celceta. Here’s XSEED playing through about half an hour to give you a taste.

And for horror fans, here’s The Persistence on PSVR:
