Yakuza’s Weirdness In One Video

For those who are just getting their first opportunity to try out the Yakuza series this week, here’s one video that neatly highlights what you’re in for.

PC fans will get their hands on Yakuza 0 this week, with SEGA releasing PC ports of Yakuza Kiwami 1 and 2 later. Yakuza 0 is the prequel of the series, so it’s a good place to start canonically, although you’ll miss some of the quality of life additions that won’t be in the remakes of the first two Yakuza games.

But still, a Yakuza game means exploring Kamurocho. And Kamurocho is a weird and wonderful place. Yes, it’s filled with crime syndicates and fist fights and karaoke. But it’s also filled with weird shit like what happens after you go bowling.

How can you not love a game that lets you do things like that.

Yakuza 0 will sell for $27 ($US19.99) when it launches on Steam later this week. If you want to know more about what you’re getting into, Luke puts forward a strong argument below.
