Original Pokemon Booster Box Sells For $94,537

If you’ve got any old booster packs in the closet, you might want to go find them.

An unopened first edition booster box was sold in the United States last week for a staggering $US56,000 ($76,860), with an additional 23 percent buyers premium bringing the total to $94,537.

The box was a limited English first edition with 36 11-card boosters, and presented a rare opportunity for collectors to get their hands on a pristine Charizard. A first edition holographic Charizard sold for $76,396 ($US55,650) on eBay last year, so you get an idea of why bidding for the booster box was so high.

The purchase of the booster box is a notable jump from an online auction in October last year, where a first edition unopened booster box sold for ($74131) $US54,000.
