SNK’s sword fighting game is back. A new Samurai Shodown (aka Samurai Spirits in Japan) is headed for the PS4.

Samurai Shodown is slated for a 2019 release.


  • Had forgotten how much I remembered the different characters from Shodown. (I am also aware of the paradoxical nature of that statement)

  • So after SS Sen failed miserably they’re giving 3D another go? I’ll be waiting until after the reviews come out on this one.

  • I have to admit this made me smile. I would have preferred if they went full anime 2D style, but SF4’s paintery 3D is not a bad fit either. Too bad I didn’t see any of my favourite characters from previous games (other than Haomaru) like Cham Cham, Charlotte or Rimururu.
