This Week In Games: A Pokemon Fallout

The biggest week of November, by far, has arrived. Will you be hunting eggs, Pokemon, or scrap in the wasteland? Welcome to This Week In Games.

Worth noting some releases are spread out a little this week. If you didn’t buy a deluxe/special edition, HITMAN 2 launches this week. Similarly, you can get Battlefield 5 this week if you want to spend extra – but if you want the regular version, that drops next week.

Here’s what you can look forward to this week:

  • Pokemon Let’s Go: Pikachu & Eevee (Switch)
  • Spyro Reignited Trilogy (PS4, XBO)
  • HITMAN 2 (PC, PS4, XBO)
  • Chimparty (PS4)
  • The Golf Club 2019 (PS4, XBO)
  • Civilization VI (Switch)
  • Aces of the Luftwaffe Squadron (Switch)
  • Circle of Sumo (Switch)
  • Trailblazers (Switch)
  • Crusader Kings 2: Holy Fury (PC)

  • Hellgate London (PC)
  • Mars Chaos Menace (PC, Switch)
  • Rockets Rockets Rockets (Switch)
  • Knowledge is Power Decades (PS4)
  • Project Highrise (PS4, Switch)
  • Tinboy (Switch)
  • Bad North (PC)
  • Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus (PC)

Let’s kick off things this week with a trailer for an Aussie game, Storm Boy, which is set on the South Australian coastline. (We’ll see more of this next week when it launches more broadly.) There’s also some uncommentated HITMAN 2 gameplay, and an idea of what to expect from this week’s Warhammer 40,000 game.

Here's A Ton Of Spyro Reignited Trilogy Gameplay

What do you do when a hole is too small for anyone but a small purple dragon? Obviously, recruiting Spyro into service is the answer.

Bad North is really good, and should be especially so on PC if you’re after a new RTS. I wholly expect Hellgate London to be a total trashfire, but fortunately with Spyro, Pokemon and HITMAN 2 available there’s plenty to get stuck into.

As for Fallout 76? Well, that’s going to be interesting one way or another. Are you going to take the plunge?

  • Anybody know of a good bundle deal for the switch with Pokemon let’s go?
From past Nintendo actions, am I likely to get a good deal before Christmas?

    • Wait for the Black Friday deals to drop, maybe something happens then, but I would suggest getting the game separately to the console

      • That is good advice. Not a requirement to get the pokemon specific console so getting the standard console and game seperate seems to save me money.
Although do you know if you can use 2 off the pokeball controllers if you are playing together?

  • Picked up Civ 6 for the PC last week because was on sale. Hope that the Switch version translates well because it’s a great game.

    • I think it will be a port of the iPad version, which is great. The only problem really is that CPU turn times take quite a lot longer than they did on my PC, even early game.

Expect to get rinsed for all the additional civ packs. They’re like $8-10 each on iPad.

      • I remember reading some months back that the Switch version has all the DLC included other than the latest on PC, Rise & Fall.

If that’s true, you can create the Aussie Empire whilst on the go.

  • As someone with their foot firmly in the pro ‘Let’s Go’ camp, I am very excited for the end of the week! I pre-loaded LGP a few days ago and the home screen icon taunts me every time I see it. I’m also curious to see how Civ VI turns out and intrigued by Storm Boy. I didn’t even know it existed until last week when I was browsing the eshop.

  • Screw all that, I’m so happy that Underworld Ascendant is this week! Thursday 15th I’m pretty sure. Loved Ultima Underworld, can’t wait to see what kind of cool experimental gameplay this one throws out. Deliberately avoided the betas and such for that reason 😀

      • Oh for real, they arent? I thought the backerkit update said GOG, though maybe I just assumed that because it probably just said DRM free or something :/ that’s a shame though, apart from they’re shitty social media stunts I’m really starting to prefer GOG over steam for everything

    • I misread that as Holy Furry and started wondering if it’s an indie game where you become the Pope of the Perverts.

  • I can’t be the only one excited for Hitman? The first one is often on sale for anyone unsure and was really enjoyable for anyone who just likes to troll NPC’s or get creative! Not perfect but lots of fun!
