What Are You Playing This Weekend?

The weekend is an excellent time for sleeping of which I need plenty. Once that’s done, it’s time to start terraforming the galaxy around me.

I’m very much looking forward to some board games this weekend, one of which includes Gaia Project. It’s a sci-fi spin-off in the Terra Mystica series, where you grow and develop by terraforming the planets around you.

You can turn certain planets into Gaia planets, which can then be colonised. Or you can skip all of that together and just focus on research. There’s a ton of ways you can go about it.

Importantly, and one of the reasons I grabbed Gaia Project and not Terra Mystica, the game scales real well from 2 players to 4 players. These sorts of things you usually end up testing with someone (hi Tegan), so something that isn’t garbage outside of the maximum number of players is important.

Beyond that, I’ll be looking forward to doing tons of washing. Living out of a suitcase for a couple of weeks has meant the old sock draw is running a little dry.
