All the GOTY nominees were worthy, and I would have been okay with any of them winning. Personally I wanted Monster Hunter World to get it, but GoW is fine too.

Also SonicFox is the best. Just the best.

Yes! I'd be happy with any of those except Odyssey... Kinda wanted Monster Hunter World to win too. I feel like it's almost the perfect game.

As a side note I really don't get why Odyssey is so loved. I've been playing it for ages and it is so lackluster. Nothing stands out.

It's Ubisoft Open World Video Game Product No. 205 and a lot of people like that kind of thing.

Yeah I guess they do. I do too, to an extent, but I'm rarely compelled to complete them unlike the other games on the list that have me searching out all their secrets.

Glad! It’s a solid #2 in my top 3 games of the year :D

Very well deserved win for God of War.

Monster Hunter: World winning the RPG category is pretty ridiculous. Why not just list Assassin’s Creed Odyssey in there while they're at it.

To be fair Monster Hunter World is f***ing great. RPG is a weird choice I agree.

If Monster Hunter World had more maps and contents as much as MHU4 it would have had a chance. But at this bare bone state it was never going to win the GOTY award despite still being hours and hours of fun.

    I don't remember the music in RDR2...

Kinda surprised Kirby Star Allies wasn't even nominated (though it does seem to be mostly remixes of existing music).

This! The RDR2 music was largely forgettable, only when they played it live did I realize "oh yeah I remember that now".

I am so glad that Christopher Judge (Kratos) was there with the team, his voice made the game that much more engrossing.

Pretty well deserved list all round. Dragon Quest 11 and Spider-Man not winning anything made me a little sad though.
