Why Vector The Robot Should Be On Your Christmas Gift List

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to have a robot sidekick, say hello to Vector.

The latest innovation from Anki, Vector is packed full of personality and designed to be a cute companion around the home.

Fully autonomous, cloud-connected and always-on, Vector comes to life and reacts to the world around him. Straight out of the box, he’s the perfect mix of fun and useful.

Brought to you by Vector from Anki, the new robot that can see, hear, feel, think, communicate and self-charge – just like a personal robot should. Alexa integration coming in early 2019.

A few features of this charming, AI-powered friend include instant answers to questions, a timer to keep you on schedule and an intelligent HD camera that recognises faces – just say “hey Vector” to get his attention.

He gets to know your face and voice and wears his heart on his sleeve, showing his feelings on the high-res colour display and through a thousand animations.

Once he’s done being productive, Vector lets his hair down by dancing to music, playing a game of Blackjack (he’s very competitive) and doing tricks with his accessory cube.

Plus, with Alexa integration coming in early 2019, Vector will only get smarter with time, making him even more handy around the house.

He’s also pretty self-sufficient. When Vector is feeling tired or low on energy, he can automatically roll back to his charger and even has infrared sensors to prevent him falling off edges on the way.

This pocket-sized buddy packs a lot of tech inside too. It’s been in development since 2016 and was thoughtfully built with a highly-intelligent brain using Qualcomm Technologies’ platform.

Anki CEO and co-founder Boris Sofman brought Vector to life with his team and said: “Vector is the culmination of everything we’ve learned in this journey so far, and a bold next step in our vision for entertaining and purposeful robots in every home, everywhere.

“For the first time, people will be living with a robot that is able to bring both a warm and joyful experience and a new and characterful form of utility into the home.”
