This Week In Games: A Flying Anthem

Some know it as fate, but for others it is the will of God. That’s the decision amongst new games this week – have you been convinced by Anthem‘s wiles, or will you take a portal to another world?

STEINS;GATE ELITE and Kiryu’s remastered adventures in Yakuza Kiwami are probably the biggest major non-Anthem titles this week, but there’s also a neat mix of indie and not-quite-indie-but-not-quite-AAA games on the roster. Galactic Civilizations 3 gets a major expansion this week, and RTS fans ware being served by the medieval-fantasy strategy Bannermen.

(For those wondering why Anthem‘s being mentioned twice, it’s because of the whole pay-for-an-early-release thing. You can read more about that here.)

Here’s what’s out this week:

  • Riot: Civil Unrest (PC, PS4, XBO)
  • Anthem (PC, PS4, XBO)
  • Aragami (Switch)
  • Yakuza Kiwami (PC)
  • STEINS;GATE ELITE (PC, Switch)
  • STEINS;GATE; Linear Bounded Phenogram (PC)
  • Bannermen (PC)
  • Galactic Civilizations 3: Retribution (PC)
  • Devotion (PC)
  • Hellink (PC)
  • BlazeRush (Switch)
  • Trine 2 (Switch)
  • I Wanna Fly (Switch)
  • Warplanes: WW2 Dogfight (Switch)
  • Qube 2 (Switch)
  • Death end reQuest (PS4)
  • The Journey Down Trilogy (Switch)
  • Devil Engine (PC, Switch)
  • CLASH – Battle Arena! (PC)
  • RemiLore (Switch)
  • X-Morph: Defense (Switch)

Not as stacked as previous weeks, and potentially not as flashy either. Let’s begin with STEINS;GATE ELITE, which people keep telling me is an amazing VN series that I really need to play.

A quieter one, then. See anything that catches your eye?
