This Week In Games: Anime Monster Hunter

Apart from the free-to-play Titanfall game which is expected to drop sometime in the next 48 hours, there’s already plenty of dogfighting this weekend. The Aussie-made City of Brass gets a second lease of life on the Switch – which has far and away the most content this week – while God Eater 3 drops on the 8th.

It’s the last week before the flood of 2019 AAA games lands: Anthem and Metro Exodus drop next week if you’re silly enough to buy the special editions. Far Cry New Dawn is releasing next week as well, and there’s Jump Force for those who want to see Naruto get the shit kicked out of him by Luffy. Good times.

But as for this week, here’s what to expect. Note that these releases were pulled from what is appearing on the respective storefronts for each console this morning, so some games launching this week internationally might not be available here.

  • Spike Volleyball (PC, PS4, Xbox)
  • Monster Energy Supercross 2 (PC, PS4, XBO, Switch)
  • Access Denied (XBO, Switch)
  • RIOT: Civil Unrest (XBO, Switch)
  • 39 Days to Mars (XBO, PC)
  • Please, Don’t Touch Anything (XBO)
  • Away: Journey to the Unexpected (PS4, Switch)
  • God Eater 3 (PS4, PC)
  • The Path of Motus (Switch)
  • Defense Grid 2 (Switch)
  • The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 (Switch)
  • Evoland: Legendary Edition (Switch)
  • The Stillness of the Wind (Switch)
  • Pocket Academy (Switch)
  • Blazblue CENTRALFICTION Special Edition (Switch)
  • Solstice Chronicles: MIA (Switch)
  • Pumped BMX Pro (PC, Switch)
  • >observer (Switch)
  • Doom & Destiny (Switch)
  • Food Truck Tycoon (Switch)
  • City of Brass (Switch)
  • Oniken (Switch)
  • Glass Masquerade (Switch)
  • Titanfall: Battle Royale Game (PC, PS4, XBO presumably)
  • Odallus: The Dark Call (Switch)
  • LOVE (Switch)
  • 99 Moves (Switch)

Look at those Switch ports go. The re-release of observer is a reminder that I really need to return to that game, but for most people God Eater 3 and what Titanfall looks like without, er, Titans, will be the most interesting point.

Trailers! Let’s begin with the locals, City of Brass.

See anything that catches your eye?
