Now that we’re done with Google’s big announcement, it’s time to set your alarms again for another Nintendo Direct. This one’s all about upcoming indies, with around 30 minutes of footage.
Nintendo of America announced that the spring showcase would be aired at 0900 PT, which works out to the awfully miserable time of 0300 AEDT / 0200 AQST / 0230 ACST / 0100 AWDT / 0500 NZDT locally.
Oh well, you can’t win them all. As mentioned below, this is a direct aimed at “indie games coming to Nintendo Switch”, which means it won’t be more information about Pokemon Sword/Shield, Fire Emblem or other first-party stuff.
Tune in this Wednesday, March 20 at 9am PT for a new #Nindies Showcase video presentation featuring about 30 minutes of information on indie games coming to #NintendoSwitch!

A few indies have already begun making announcements ahead of the direct. The biggest cab off the rank was Castle Crashers: Remastered:

But Professor Lupo and his Horrible Pets, My Time At Portia, Deadlic’s The Long Journey Home and Overwhelm were also announced for Nintendo’s platform in the last few days:

Of course, that doesn’t mean Nintendo can’t drop a cheeky 60 seconds in about the upcoming challenger packs for Smash Ultimate. But it’s more likely that we’ll hear news about games like Shakedown: Hawaii, maybe stuff on games like Finding Paradise (given To The Moon is coming to the Switch), and maybe even titles such as Hazelnut Bastille (think a top-down RPG inspired by Zelda).
A release date for Untitled Goose Game wouldn’t hurt, either. It’s worth noting that the direct is scheduled for the same time as Microsoft’s GDC talk about the future of Xbox Live, which could be real interesting. It’d be great to see what the Golf Story devs are working on now too.
The whole event will be livestreamed through the Nintendo website and YouTube. You can find the embed below:
