This Week In Games: Yoshi’s Back

With all of the main shooters and AAA blockbusters out of the way, it’s time for some more wholesome entertainment. Yoshi, get in here.

Yoshi’s Crafted World drops at the end of this week, and it’s hands down one of the most adorable games you’ll see all year. Seriously, if you have a Switch, check out some of the gameplay below. Nintendo let everyone capture 30 minutes of gameplay (edited in three minute chunks, so there’s plenty of bits and bobs).

Beyond that, it’s a busy week for the Switch: Galak-Z appears, there’s a ton of classic arcade games, a new game from the makers of Puzzle Quest, Pixark, and a few multiplat games.

And Final Fantasy 7. Just a small RPG.

Elesewhere, Assassin’s Creed 3 Remastered drops on consoles. Tropico 6 is launching this week, and there’s also an unusual VN called Minotaur that looks real intriguing.

Onto the trailers! We’ll start not with Yoshi, but that visual novel Minotaur. Lot of good stuff going on, especially if you’re a Zero Escape fan. (Note the Windscape trailer below was for its PC release, but it’ll give you an idea of the gameplay.)

Trap for Winners looks kind of neat as well. Anyway, plenty of indies out this week and a ton of nostalgia bait. See anything that takes your fancy, or still knocking off Sekiro / the Apex battle pass / Division 2?
