Enjoy Another 20 Minutes From The Outer Worlds

It’s been a while since Obsidian released a first-person RPG, so let’s enjoy another 20 minutes of gameplay from The Outer Worlds.

Due out on consoles and PC (through the Epic Store) later this year, The Outer Worlds has basically been pitched so far as a sci-fi Fallout: New Vegas with companions in space. And during a PAX East panel over the weekend, Obsidian showed off a chunk of a quest that takes place within a film studio.

The studio is responsible for making all the propaganda movies in-game, and a studio executive seems to believe that the player could be the next big star. So you have to head upstairs for an audition with Nyoka and Felix, only for the audition to quickly turn violent.

A lot of the build was still work in progress, and many of the voice-overs were absent, but it was nice to see Obsidian show off more regardless. The devs also showed some of the funnier weaponry, like a melee rod that freezes and rearranges the physiology of enemies that it hits.

The Outer Worlds is due out some time this year for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
