Here Are Your 2019 Eisner Awards Nominees

It feels like only yesterday that we were thinking about our favourite comics of 2018. Now the unstoppable march of time itself has reminded us otherwise: We’re actually a good chunk of the way through the year—which means another instalment of the biggest comics awards ceremony is nearly upon us!

Ahead of this summer’s San Diego Comic-Con, Comic-Con International has revealed the full list of nominees for the 2019 Eisner Awards, and as always, it’s a veritable smorgasbord of excellent comics (and great reading recommendations!) and the celebration of the people behind them.

Highlights include Chip Zdarsky’s stunning final issue of Spectacular Spider-Man getting a nod in the single issue category, io9 favourite Mister Miracle getting a Best Limited Series nod, and Image sweeping the Best New Series category with nods for everything from Bitter Root to Twisted Love—which is actually the first time in Eisners history that any publisher has completely taken the Best New Series category.
