This Week In Games: Dance With The Devil

The biggest blockbusters of April don’t arrive until later in the month, but there’s still a wealth of intriguing indies dropping this week. Like Cuphead.

The first that caught my eye was Sigma Theory, a turn-based cold war strategy from the makers of Out There (which dropped on the Switch recently).

Speaking of solid mobile games that got a new lease of life on other platforms, the makers of 80 Days are back with Heaven’s Vault. It’s an open-world adventure for fans of Indiana Jones, starring an archaeologist scouring an area of space to discover lost secrets, ancient languages, and clues towards a vault.

The steampunk multiplayer shooter Steamcraft drops this week, as does the Switch version of Neo ATLAS 1469, a game about ruling a trading company in the 1400s. There’s also a game about snooker, if that takes your fancy. The Switch also gets another Kairosoft game in Cafeteria Nipponica.

Here’s what you can look forward to this week:

  • My Time At Portia (PS4, XBO, Switch)
  • World War Z (PC, PS4, XBO)
  • Truberbrook (PS4, XBO, Switch)
  • Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD (XBO, Switch)
  • Neo ATLAS 1469 (Switch)
  • Heaven’s Vault (PC)
  • Snooker 19 (PC, PS4, XBO)
  • Steamcraft (PC)
  • Sigma Theory: Global Cold War (PC)
  • Katana Zero (PC)
  • God’s Trigger (PC)
  • One Finger Death Punch 2 (PC)
  • World of Warships: Legends (XBO)
  • Eternity: The Last Unicorn (XBO)
  • Immortal Legacy: The Jade Cipher (PSVR)
  • Our World Is Ended (PS4, Switch)
  • Path to Mnemosyne (Switch)
  • Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Champions (Switch)
  • Hell Is Other Demons (Switch)
  • Slabwell: The Quest For Kaktun’s Alpaca (Switch)
  • The Padre (Switch)
  • Day Through Time (Switch)
  • Cafeteria Nipponica (Switch)
  • Cuphead (Switch)
  • Active Soccer 2019 (Switch)
  • Dawn of Survivors (Switch)
  • Goat Punks (Switch)

Onto the trailers! Heaven’s Vault looks interesting as all hell, so we’ll start there with a 15 minute walkthrough from two of the developers.

God’s Trigger looks like one for fans of Hotline Miami or Hong Kong Massacre from earlier this year. Cuphead is obviously a fit for the Switch, but Katana Zero looks like a great action adventure as well.

See anything you like this week?
