Everything Coming To Netflix, Stan, Foxtel And Amazon In May

Another month passes and the big streaming platforms continue to try and outdo each other as they strive to add to the number of eyeballs fixed on their offerings. For those following regular series, there are lots of ongoing shows but also some interesting movies and documentaries. Here’s what the four main streaming platforms have on offer for the month.

Stan

The headline item for Stan this month is Disney’s Christopher Robin which is also getting a run on Foxtel. Starring Ewan McGregor, this was a popular flick and adds to Stan’s library of Disney content – at least until Disney + launches here and starts to siphon all their movies back to the House of Mouse.

There’s also George Clooney’s Catch 22 and a movie I quite liked, The Circle which is starting to seem a little prescient. It’s about an evil social media empire.

Sneaky Pete season three, 10 May
Sneaky Pete revolves around a con man named Marius Josipovic (Giovanni Ribisi) who assumes the identity of his ex-cellmate, Pete, and uses Pete’s estranged family to try and escape from the past. In season three, all the members of the Sneaky Pete family explore their identities; their purpose; where they belong; where they’re going. It’s a dangerous journey. They could lose themselves, or worse – lose their lives.

The end of the world is coming, which means a fussy angel (Michael Sheen) and a loose-living demon (David Tennant) who’ve become overly fond of life on Earth are forced to form an unlikely alliance to stop Armageddon. But they have lost the Antichrist, an 11-year-old boy unaware he’s meant to bring upon the end of days, forcing them to embark on an adventure to find him and save the world before it’s too late.

Death in Paradise season one to seven, 1 May
A British inspector is transferred to Saint-Marie’s police department, but he hates the sun, sea and sand. The series follows his investigations into murders on the island. Later series see another British DI head the investigative team.

Stay, 1 May
Starring Ewan McGregor, Naomi Watts and Ryan Gosling. This movie focuses on the attempts of a psychiatrist to prevent one of his patients from committing suicide while trying to maintain his own grip on reality.

Association of Volleyball Professionals, 3 May

To see if she’s ready for the responsibility, Mariah is tasked with dog-sitting her uncle’s crazy canine Jack, who upends the family’s holiday preparations with his various shenanigans.

An unemployed cartoonist moves back in with his parents and younger brother Freddy. When his parents demand he leave, he begins to spread rumours that his father is sexually abusing Freddy.
