This Week In Games: Rick And Morty’s Back

If you’re after something short and different to play, you’re in luck this week: the Indiepocalypse is back. It’s headed up by a few PSVR games, including the on-rails shooter Blood & Truth, two cricket games, a new WH40K action game, Layers of Fear 2 and a cute platformer with a cat.

There’s no major AAA blockbuster dropping this week, but there’s a ton of interesting, smaller titles. The most eye-catching is Trover Saves The Universe, the Rick and Morty game from Justin Roiland. There’ll be more footage of that below, if you’re interested.

Cricket fans are well served this week, with Cricket Captain 2019 and the homegrown Cricket 19 both dropping. If you’re wondering: Cricket 19 is like the Don Bradman Cricket and Ashes Cricket games, while Cricket Captain is for lovers of spreadsheets.

Beyond that, all of these are worth checking out briefly: Warhammer 40,000 Inquistor Prophecy, Gato Roboto, Blood & Truth if you like on-rails VR experiences, Blood Will Be Spilled, ICan, Pixark and the roguelike shooter/strategy Void Bastards.

Man, it’s a chockers week. Here’s the fuller list:

  • Cricket 19 (PS4, XBO, Switch)
  • Blood & Truth (PSVR)

Right, the trailers. We’ll start with Gato Roboto, the monochrome platformer about a cute cat. Who gets a rocket launcher.

What a chockers week. Guess everyone wants to get out of the gate before E3 in a fortnight. There’s a ton of interesting games, for sure–I’ll definitely give Cricket 19 a whirl (on the Switch, if you’re interested how that holds up) and Gato Roboto was good fun when I played through the intro recently.

See anything that sticks out to you this week?
